Valeriana

This series of paintings arises after experiencing the contrast of being in a city with a lot of activity and then returning to my hometown again, where life goes by with a different rhythm, more peaceful and slower.

I think that the landscape I left before leaving is not the same as the one I find when I return, even though everything seems to look the same. Just as my internal panorama is not the same either.

As a result of the transformations of these two spaces (internal and external) the color areas in my work take on more prominence, the stains are more extended, the edges are blurred to generate more Levity. The graphisms decreased, I am focused on the intimate dialogues between the spots, their directions and color.

Although I didn't want it  
I feel at home.

Will I live to see
The cherry blossoms bloom in spring,
In Japan's gardens?

Or will I pass on,
Before I have the chance to go,
To that distant land?

But even if I don't,
I can still dream and imagine,
The wonders it holds.

The temples and shrines,
The mountains and the ocean,
All waiting for me.

So I'll keep on hoping,
That someday I'll make the trip,
To Japan's shores.

with all of my dead.
We are each handed a metal trinket, 
that spins and twirls, 
autonomously. 
But mine just falls apart.
the more I try to fix it 
the more it breaks, crumbles
piece by piece gear by gear 
it falls apart 
and rather then sharing company with my lost, 
I'm left picking up the parts.
